Photo Questions
How Many Photos Should I Include in my Video Tribute?
Our price includes up to 100 photos. When deciding how many photos to include, consider how you plan to present it.
Many people play it on a loop in the background at the visitation or their event. In that case there is no real limit to the number of photos, but we recommend around 100, which would be approximately 12 minutes.
If you would like to show it to a group to watch together, consider fewer photos, around 30 - 40, which would be up to 5 minutes.
What if I want to include more than 100 photos?
No problem! Additional photos are $.50 / photo after 100 and will be billed separately.
Do you have any tips for selecting the best photos?
- Quality matters
Make sure your files are not thumbnails and avoid taking screenshots from social media - rather, save the full resolution file. - Less is more
Avoid multiple photos that are very similar looking or a lot from the same event, just pick your favourites. - Try to tell their story
Collect photos that show a range of people and interests that your loved one shared throughout their lifetime if possible.
What photo file types can I upload?
We prefer and recommend uploading .jpeg images but we also accept most image formats including heic, png, pdf and tiff.
What photo resolution do you recommend?
We recommend 300 dpi for optimal quality.
How do you recommend I digitize my printed photos?
- Scan them if you have access to a scanner (300dpi)
- Take a photo using your phone
- Use a photo scanning app like PhotoScan or Photomyne
Do you touch up my photos?
Absolutely! Our team of video designers will touch up each photo if needed. Our most common enhancements are:
- Brightening
- Light cropping
- Removing date stamps and red eye
- Applying a grey scale filter on old black and white photos to make them more clear
Please note that for the Main Photo (the photo that appears on the first introductory slide of your video), our team will perform the following extra enhancements if needed:
- Removing people and/or the background to allow the focus to be on your loved one
- Removing any distractions such as purse straps
- Enhancing old or damaged photos by removing rips, stains, or discoloration
How do I choose my Main or Intro Photo?
Your Main Photo is the image shown on the first (intro) slide of your Video Tribute—so choose a favorite!
When uploading, the photo that appears first in your gallery will be used as the Main Photo. You can drag and drop to reorder your photos anytime before submitting. If you prefer, you can also label the file “Main Image” before uploading.
How do I upload my photos?
After your purchase, you’ll receive an email from videos@funeralprints.com with a secure link to your private photo gallery. Use the link to upload 25–100 photos (and arrange them in the order you’d like them to appear). To access your gallery, enter your first and last name (email is optional).
When you’re happy with your selection and have chosen your main/intro photo, click Submit. We’ll be notified right away—and once we also have your music selections, we’ll email you to confirm your video is In Progress.
What if I find another photo I want to include after I submit?
If you haven’t received our “In Progress” email yet, reply to the email with your private upload link and tell us you’d like to add a photo—we’ll do our best to include it.
If you have already received the “In Progress” email, your video is likely already in production, and adding photos may count as a revision.
Can I add live video clips to my video?
Yes, you can add up to 5 live video clips to the video tribute, in mp4 format. You can add more, but it will become a custom order with additional charges. These will be quoted separately.
Video Length & Music Questions
How long is a Video Tribute?
Approximately 3+ minutes for every 25 photos. Here are approximate timelines:
- 25 photos = 3:22 minutes (1 song)
- 50 photos = 6.44 minutes (2 songs)
- 75 photos = 9:10 minutes (3 songs)
- 100 photos = 11:46 minutes (~ 4 songs)
How many songs can I include in my video tribute?
It will depend on the length of the songs, but here are the typical guidelines:
- 25 photos is roughly 3:22, which is roughly 1 song.
- 50 photos is roughly 6:44 minutes, which is roughly 2 songs.
- Therefore, 100 photos is usually 4-5 songs
What if I have more songs that I want to include?
If you have more songs then what is suggested, we can cut the songs shorter. Just let us know this is what you would like in the comments field.
What if I do not have enough songs for the number of photos?
No worries, we can repeat a song of your choise or add instrumental music.
What kind of music can I add to my video tribute?
You can use licensed instrumental music at no charge, or you can send us a list of the custom music you would like in the preferred order. There is a $4/song charge to use custom music.
Do I have to include music?
No. If you'd prefer, you can choose to have no background music. Some people choose have music for their keepsake, but mute it during the event.
Do you have a list of popular songs people use for video tributes?
We recommend choosing songs that were special to your loved one and their taste in music, but you can read our blog posts for ideas:
I have a CD of music. What should I do?
You will need to get the music from the CD onto your computer and save it a .mp3 file. To do this you, you will require an external CD drive to put the files on your computer and then you can download a free software called Express Rip CD Ripper Software to convert your file to an .mp3 file.
Timelines & Delivery Questions
How long does it take to receive my video tribute?
24 hours from the time we receive all of your inputs (all / final photos and any video clips).
Will I get a preview to approve first?
Yes, we find many are happy with our first try but if you have a revision just email them to videos@funeralprints.com. Our price includes 1 round of minor revisions (up to 5 additional photos, small placement changes, etc). After that there is a $40 charge per round of revisions.
If I want a minor revision, when do you need to know?
Please respond to the email with your private link with your complete request within 48 hours of receiving your video link.
How much time do revisions take?
Please allow an additional 24 hours for revisions.
Can I get my video faster than 24 hours?
We cannot guarantee this, but you can contact us to see if we can rush your video, but there will be a rush fee of an additional $50.
How do you deliver my Video Tribute?
These will be delivered via email with a link where you can view the video, share with others and download your copy.
What format do you deliver the video in?
We deliver it as an .mp4 file which plays on almost all Smart TVs and computers. If you require a different format just let us know.
Revision Questions
What revisions are included in my purchase?
We include one round of minor revisions with your tribute purchase. These include:
Photo swaps & tweaks:
- Swap or replace up to 5 photos
- Minor crop/position adjustments (when possible)
- Light touch-ups to the main/intro photo (e.g., slight brightening, gentle sharpening, small color correction)
Text edits:
- Fix typos, spelling, punctuation
- Small wording adjustments (e.g., a name, date, short phrase)
- Correcting a minor layout issue caused by a typo (like text wrapping awkwardly)
Music changes:
- If you selected from our instrumental music library: you may change the music track once
- If you provided custom songs: you may switch out 1 song, or reorder the songs. Please remember that we may shorten the last song if required
Timing / Pacing:
- Small timing adjustments (e.g., extend a section by a few seconds, adjust slide duration slightly)
- Minor transition tweaks (within the same overall style)
What if I want to make a change to my Video Tribute after receiving my private link?
No problem—we want to help you get this tribute just right. Your purchase includes one round of minor revisions.
Within 48 hours of receiving your video link, reply to that email once with all requested changes in a single message. For full details, please review our Video Tribute Revisions Policy.
What revisions are NOT included in my purchase?
Major revisions that may require rebuilding part of your tribute are not included. Below are some examples of major revisions:
- Swapping 6+ photos, or changing the overall photo selection significantly
- Re-ordering a large portion of the video (e.g., restructuring multiple sections or the flow)
- Changing the template/theme/style (fonts, design style, transitions, overall layout)
- Removing the quote slides after the video has been created
- Adding songs, or switching around 2 or more songs
- Changing the music type (Instrumental to Custom or vice versa)
- Multiple rounds of revisions beyond the included round
- Requests submitted after 48 hours (we’ll still help—just may require a revision fee)
How much do revisions cost?
One round of minor revisions is included in your purchase. Each additional round of minor revisions is $40. Major revisions must be quoted by our team on a case-by-case basis, based on an hourly rate of $60/hr.
Additional Charge Questions
How much does it cost per photo for over 100 photos?
Additional photos are $.50 / photo after 100 and will be billed separately.
How much are additional revision fees?
The first round of minor revisions is on us. Each additional round of minor revisions is $40 pending the revision request. Major revisions are quoted on a case-by-case basis, based on an hourly rate of $60/hr.
What is your rush fee charge?
If you want delivery in under 24 hours, you will have to contact us first to ensure we can provide this. There is a $50 rush fee that will be billed separately.
How much does it cost to add custom music?
We charge $4 per song. So if you need 5 songs it will be an additional $20.
